Phil McGraw

In 1968 was a middle linebacker on the University of Tulsa football team where he received a scholarship. On November 23rd of that year this team was defeated by the University of Houston 100-6 in one of the most lopsided college games in history. Scoring a touchdown for Houston in this game was wide receiver Larry Gatlin of the Gatlin Brothers fame.

In 2004 the children's TV series "Sesame Street" (1969) introduced the puppet "Dr. Feel" in his honor.

Two sons, Jay McGraw (b. 1979) & Jordan (b. 1986)

With the start of his TV show "Dr. Phil" (2003), he and his wife and son, Robin and Jordan, moved to Beverly Hills, purchasing a $7 million mansion. His son Jay is in law school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

In 2006, he donated $1 million to the Dr. Phil McGraw Foundation.
