Lloyd Corrigan

Entered films as an actor approximately 1925 and then turned to writing and directing for the screen as early as 1926.

Portly American character actor, often in amiable or nervously harassed roles. Played bit parts in silent cinema, before switching his attention to writing (1926-30) and directing (particularly mysteries, 1930-38). Thereafter, he returned to acting and was especially noteworthy in the recurring part of a perpetually befuddled millionaire in Columbia's 'Boston Blackie' series. Also occasionally popped up in villainous roles and was a frequent television actor from 1954.
