1986Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award: in 1986 as Best Actor (Featured Role - Musical) for "The Mystery of Edwin Drood;" and in 1988 as Best Actor (Musical) for playing Billy Crocker in a revival of "Anything Goes."
1999Provided the singing voice of "Gregory" for the song "La Resistance" in the movie, South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut (1999).
2003In 2003, released a solo CD entitled, "Where Time Stands Still".
2005Sang at the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising concert, "Standing Ovations IV: From Stage to Screen and Back Again" on October 16, 2005, at Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre. Howard performed the song, "Something's Coming" from "West Side Story".
2006Was chosen to play "The Phantom of the Opera" for the 7,486th performance of the musical on Broadway, on January 9, 2006. This gala performance marked TPOTO as the Longest-Running Show in Broadway history, surpassing the previous record of 7 485 performances set by another Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, "Cats".
2006Made a special appearance as "The Phantom of the Opera" at the 60th Annual Tony Awards in 2006 and sung a verse of "The Music of the Night" to commemorate both "Phantom" becoming the Longest-Running Show in Broadway history and director Harold Prince receiving a special Lifetime Achievement Tony Award.
2006As of August 2006, he has achieved over 1 500 performances as the title character in the Broadway production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash-hit musical, "The Phantom of the Opera", earning him the title of the Longest-Running Broadway Phantom.
