In the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s she appeared on many TV westerns, including "Gunsmoke" (1955), "Bonanza" (1959), "Wagon Train" (1957), "Death Valley Days" (1952), "The Virginian" (1962), "Wanted: Dead or Alive" (1958), "The Big Valley" (1965) and many more. She was at least as well known for her TV western appearances as for horror movies.

She is mostly known for appearing in small roles in a few horror films, such as "Mrs. Spool" in Psycho II (1983) and "Arlene's Mother" in I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957).

In her death scene in the final scenes of Psycho II (1983), where her character "Mrs. Spool" is hit on the head with a shovel, she wore a protective skull cap under her wig to deflect the blow from the rubber shovel.
