Nearly turned down the role of Lindsey on "One Life to Live" (1968) because the character was originally to appear in one episode only. Hickland gave such a good performance that the producers decided to make her character a long term one.

Is no longer on contract at "One Life to Live" (1968) as of May 8, 2005. The show chose not to offer her a new deal; however, she will continue to appear on the show on a recurring basis.

Before her big break, one jobs was as a Hollywood answering service operator. One assignments was telling Sharon Gless she had won the role of Christine Cagney on "Cagney & Lacey" (1981).

Soon-to-be ex-husband is actor Michael E. Knight. She was formerly married to David Hasselhoff, who played a character on "Knight Rider" (1982) by the name of Michael Knight.
