Bill Lawrence

Has said in interviews that he is a huge "The Simpsons" (1989) fan and intends "Scrubs" (2001) to be the way "The Simpsons" (1989) would if it were a live-action show set in a hospital, in terms of the humor, large recurring cast and numerous guest stars. A 2006 episode even borrowed a joke from "The Simpsons" (1989) when J.D. said of "Grey's Anatomy" (2005): "That show is so realistic, it's like someone was watching our lives and put it on television!" "Lisa Simpson" made a similar comment about the Jim Henson series "Dinosaurs" (1991).

Majored in English at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He graduated in 1990.

Daughter, Charlotte Sarah, was born on June 8, 2000 in Los Angeles.

His daughter Charlotte is the baby saying "Bye bye" over his production company's name (Doozer) at the end of "Scrubs" (2001).

Son, William Stoddard Lawrence, was born on January 3, 2003.

Bill and his wife, Christa Miller, became the parents of their third child, Henry Vanduzer Lawrence, on October 8, 2006 in Los Angeles.
