Amber Tamblyn

She is the goddaughter of actor Dean Stockwell. Stockwell and her father, Russ Tamblyn, appeared together in the film The Boy with Green Hair (1948) and in the "Quantum Leap" (1989) episode "Thou Shalt Not...".

Her favorite films are: The Asphalt Jungle (1950), L'albero degli zoccoli (1978),Lost Highway (1997), Una pura formalità (1994), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), "Blakes 7: Duel (#1.8)" (1978), La cité des enfants perdus (1995), Amadeus (1984), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Mononoke-hime (1997), Brazil (1985), Citizen Kane (1941), and On the Waterfront (1954).

On "General Hospital" (1963), Amber portrayed the adopted granddaughter of "Lila Quartermaine", portrayed by Anna Lee. In the 1950s (long before Amber's birth), Amber's father, Russ Tamblyn, was married to Lee's daughter Venetia Stevenson.

Amber suffers from arachnophobia. When a scene in "General Hospital" (1963) called for her character Emily to pick up her pet tarantula, Amber went to the writers and asked them if they could change the scene. She also suggested that the spider be killed off and Emily be given a rat, the sort of pet Amber herself had at home.

Appears in the "Twin Peaks" (1990) Special Edition DVD special features. She and her father Russ Tamblyn tell a story about his appearance at a "Twin Peaks" event at which Amber had the cast sign her shoes.

Her dad, Russ Tamblyn danced with her during the 1997 Nurses' Ball.

Appeared in "The Twilight Zone: Evergreen (#1.1)" (2002), where the punishment for being a bad seed was to be sent to Arcadia. Her most famous role to date was in the TV show "Joan of Arcadia" (2003) as the lead Joan Girardi.

Has been in two movies that were remakes of Japanese movies: The Ring (2002) and The Grudge 2 (2006).

Convinced a homeless man to pose as her father so she could get her navel pierced. It soon became infected and she had to confess to her parents. The story inspired an episode of "Joan of Arcadia" (2003).

Is best friends with her The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) co-star Alexis Bledel.

Traveled with poetry/slam tour "The Junkyard Ghost Revival" in 2008 with poets Anis Mojgani, Derrick Brown and Buddy Wakefield.

In longterm relationship with David Cross [2009].

Engaged to David Cross [August 17, 2011]. They have been together since 2009. At the time of their engagement, he was 47 and she was 28.
